Q. Do you make everything yourself?
A. Yes, everything available on this website is designed and handcrafted by me.

Q. Why do you use a variety of woods?
A. Living here in the Pacific Northwest, wood is abundant. The trick is to use the hard woods available that make strong, smooth, long-lasting wooden ware, as well as a variety that is pleasant to look at. Over the years (30+ and counting), I have experimented with dozens of wood types. The woods I use now are the 1/2 dozen or so that I think are the best.

Q. How do I care for this wooden ware?
A.

Simple Do's
1. Wash by hand
2. Oil now and then (I use olive & mineral oils)
3. Use a Scotch Brite or sandpaper to smooth out nicks and scratches they may get over time.

Don'ts
1. Don't put them in the dishwasher
2. Don't use them to unstick the garbage disposal
3. Don't leave them on the BBQ
4. Don't play fetch with the dog

Q. Why is wood better?
A.

1. Wood won't hurt your non-stick pots and pans
2. Wood is very durable
3. Bacteria doesn't like wood, it loves plastic
4. Wood is light weight and won't rust
5. Wood doesn't conduct heat - the handle will never get hot!
6. Wood is a very tactile thing - it just feels good in your hand.

Q. Do you do custom orders?
A.

Yes. Do you have an old favorite that Grandpa made years ago and now it's finally starting to ware out? You can't find another one like it anywhere? You have come to the right place!
I can usually duplicate spoons and such if you send me a tracing on paper and a photo. Send me an email and "we'll talk."

Q. How long will my order take ?
A.

You could say your order is custom made for you. I usually make the stuff as the orders come in. I don't have a huge warehouse full of inventory and there are no "operators standing by." Most orders are out of here in a couple of weeks.
